This “Amazing Grace” wood block piece marks the beginning of a brand-new body of work—one that represents both artistic exploration and spiritual reflection.
 
Over the past season, I stepped outside my usual process and began experimenting with small, stained glass–inspired paintings on wood block. Each piece in this collection is built tile by tile, with glossy, light-catching surfaces created through multiple layers of glaze, giving the work a luminous, almost window-like quality.
 
What makes this piece especially meaningful is its origin:
every individual “glass” tile was cut from a previously discarded painting of my own. Rather than starting fresh, I chose to reclaim what already existed—fragmenting past work and layering it into something entirely new. Scraps became structure. What once felt unfinished or forgotten found new purpose.
 
That process mirrors the message of “Amazing Grace” itself—redemption, renewal, and the quiet beauty of being made whole again.
