The Pain is Nearly Over- A Hope for Tomorrow
The story behind this painting is unlike any I've ever made. I was thrilled with the color palette. The piece was laying on the floor drying... When I Remembered! Ugh, my Roomba was in there. I had forgotten to shut the door of the spare bedroom/studio, and my vacuum was wreaking havoc on whatever it could roll over. I'm pretty sure I did have to throw one painting in the trash that day, but this one... I don't know, it almost felt like those tire marks gave this happy piece the rugged splash of character it needed.
This painting stayed on a hallway wall at my house for a while until I heard a college friend of mine learned she had later stage Cancer. I knew this painting was made to encourage her. I had named the painting long before, and its name fit her situation strikingly well. She passed away within weeks of receiving the gift.
If you look closely in the upper lefthand corner of the painting you'll see the phrase, "In the Great Triumphant Morning." Check out these encouraging lyrics from that song:
"We shall all rise to meet Him,
We shall all rise to greet Him,
In the morning when the dead in Christ shall rise
We shall all rise to meet Him,
We shall all rise to greet Him,
And shall have the marriage supper in the skies."
